Set Up Contactless QR Code Digital Menu

Set Up Contactless QR Code Digital Menu

Overview

Allow your guests to have a fully contactless experience via a digital menu. They will be able to view a menu, place their order, and/or pay at the table by using just their smartphone and a QR code, greatly limiting human contact.

When the order is placed, it can even print directly to the kitchen receipt printer(s).

You have the option of either having one QR code to display at your place of business for customers to scan or to display different QR Codes at each table. Each QR Code can be linked to a specific table so that when the order is placed, the table name appears in the eHopper system and receipts so the order can be properly delivered to the correct table.

Instructions

1. If you do not yet have an eHopper account, create one on the OmniChannel Plan through https://ehopper.com/pricing/.
If you have an eHopper account but are not currently on the OmniChannel Plan, you may upgrade by following the steps in https://desk.zoho.com/portal/ehopper/en/kb/articles/creating-upgrading-to-an-ehopper-freedom-restaurant-or-omnichannel-account

2. If you have not done so already, log in to eHopper Back Office and create your products. This can either be done manually or by sending your menu list and pricing info to support@ehopper.com for the Support team to upload on your behalf (within 1 - 3 days). With both methods, you are able to specify which products you would like to sell via the digital menu. If you prefer to upload manually, please see https://desk.zoho.com/portal/ehopper/en/kb/articles/creating-a-product

3. Follow the steps in this article to create your online site and synchronize product data from eHopper to the site: https://desk.zoho.com/portal/ehopper/en/kb/articles/ecommerce-site-setup

4. Once your online site is created, the next step is to create your QR Codes. To do this, first go to Apps—>eCommerce in the left navigation menu and go to the QR Code section of the page.

5. You have the option of either having one QR code to display at your place of business for customers to scan or to display different QR Codes at each table, so that when the order comes in to the POS or kitchen printer, it will show the Service Section and Table # on the receipt, which can be sent to the customer's table. See below for steps of how to generate QR codes for both of these cases.

5.1 Create One QR Code for Store

To create just one QR code, click the Download button under where it says, QR Code for Site URL on the left of the screen.

  • You can then print out the downloaded QR Code and display it anywhere at your store location that you would like customers to scan. Once scanned, they will be able to place orders directly from their mobile device, which will then be sent back to the eHopper system and kitchen printer (if set up).

5.2 Create Different QR Codes for Each Table

1. To create separate QR Codes for displaying at each of your tables, first go to the QR Code for tables section on the right side of the eCommerce page.

2. Select the Service Section that the table(s) you would like to display QR Codes at are located in from the Select Section drop down field.

3. From the Select Table drop-down field, select the checkbox on the left of each table from the selected service section that you would like to download and print separate QR Codes for.

4. Click the Download button to download the QR Codes for the selected tables.

  • The created QR Code will display the Service Section and Table Name

5. Display each table's designated QR Code at the correct table. When a customer scans it with their phone, they will be taken to the digital menu, where they can place their order and optionally pay for it as well.

The order will then appear in the eHopper system, and if set up, the kitchen receipt(s) will be sent to the kitchen printer(s). In both cases, the Service Section and Table Name will appear, so the order can be easily sent to the correct table by your staff.
